Confidence grades, A to D
The grade shows how solid a price is. It is computed from the rules below and drops as observations age.
- AVerified
At least 2 independent high-confidence sources from the region, dated within 90 days.
- BPublished
A published or listed price, or an official rate, under 12 months old.
- CEstimate
Industry estimate, low confidence, or an observation older than 12 months. Shown with the "estimate" label.
- DPlaceholder
No observation yet. Never shown on its own.
A price drops from A to B after 90 days, and from B to C after 12 months. With no observation in the chosen region, the province-wide value is shown and the grade drops one step.
How to read a price
- 1
The typical price is the median of comparable observations: half of the observed prices are lower, half are higher.
- 2
The range runs from the lowest to the highest observed price. It shows the real spread between suppliers, not a probability.
- 3
Prices are before taxes. GST and QST are added separately on your invoice.
- 4
A value marked "estimate" comes from a calculation, a price guide or an old observation. Use it as an order of magnitude.
