Definition
A digging machine whose boom and bucket sit on a turntable that swings, on tracks or wheels. It digs, loads trucks and does rough grading. In Quebec people also say "pelle" or "excavatrice"; "pépine" usually means a backhoe loader, which has a bucket at each end.
